Charles LaReau - tapes and electronics
Stasis was composed in Shanghai using recordings /found tape sounds and various electronics. tracks II, IV and VI were mixed live irt, using various tapes and machines.
Charles LaReau started experimenting with field recordings, analog synthesizer and audio
cassettes in Omaha, Nebraska in the late 1990’s. Under the monikers Voost Viszt and Das
Torpedoes he’s released numerous albums on labels such as Animal Disguise, Zeromoon,
Unread and The Seagull Label. As part of the noise and free-improv group Naturaliste he toured the US in the early 2000s, with releases on Public Eyesore, Last Visible Dog and Imvated among others. In 2005, LaReau moved to Asia, first to South Korea and then to Beijing in 2011. He started the Bluescreen cassette label in Shanhai and is now living in Hangzhou.
