Royal Trux - Untitled LP
In 1992, Royal Trux returned to rock and to life itself, with their third, untitled album. Unlike the trippy folky NYC-cum-ESP vibes of their first, Self-titled LP, untitled hefted a heavier load, with the shadow of the blues and a dusty rock ‘n roll stomp becoming more evident in their ever-changing sound. The dark passage that bore Twin Infinitives is alluded to in songs like “Bloodflowers,” “Junkie Nurse,” and “Lightning Boxer,” while tracks like “Air, “Move” and “Sun On the Run” considered the positive aspects of living in the light for a change. This forward-looking approach would lead into areas that fans of the early Trux dissolute nature could never have predicted. But the best in this head-underwater approach to music was yet to come.
